Michael Jondral is a family business, and so are its suppliers, who are personally known by the owner. In the last few years Mr. Michael has committed to bring to the digital age the most exclusive tailoring and artisan products. In such a context, Antica Barbieria Colla, together with Alessandro and Maurizio Marinella from the famous Neapolitan tie brand, was invited to join a trunk show in the store to meet and talk to clients, offering its beard and shaving services.

To celebrate its one hundred years of business, Etro rediscovered its roots through a journey to the places, stories and faces of the city of Milan. Antica Barbieria Colla, which stands for prestige and tradition, was chosen as a location for a few pictures. Indeed, over the years many singers, businessmen, politicians and Gimmo Etro himself used to tell Franco Bompieri their secrets; Milanese gentlemen hand down the rituals of shaving and getting their hair cut in this salon from one generation to the next.

On June 24, the distinguished Larusmiani boutique located in via Monte Napoleone, Milan, opened its pop-up store called Gentlemen’s Wardrobe at Promenade du Port in Porto Cervo, an exclusive northern Sardinia seaside resort. The store showcased a limited garments selection from 2017 spring/ summer collection and some hand-made accessories from the line Lorenzi by Larusmiani including knives, desk items, smoking items and toiletries. Antica Barbieria Colla was involved to offer its traditional barber service in this tasteful space.

Vitale Barberis Canonico 1663
On the occasion of the 1904 Colognes launch to celebrate its 111 years of history, Antica Barbieria Colla, with the contribution of Vitale Barberis Canonico, suggested a peculiar matching among its four new fragrances and as many iconic fabrics from the Piedmontese wool mill founded in 1663. Thus, the pure wool Hopsak fabric was matched with the Cologne 1, the traditional combed fabric Superbio with the Cologne 9, the historic Super 110’ Perennial with the Cologne 0 and the wool and mohair fabric with the Cologne 4. The event was held in the remarkable workshop belonging to the tailor Caraceni.

24 Hours of Elegance
Belgrade, one of the coolest cities in southern Europe, hosted the 5th edition of 24 hours of Elegance – Concours d’Elegance & Salon of Excellence, an event conceived by DeGorsi Luxury Consulting and dedicated to classic cars and to the best manufacturers in the world, which took place under the aegis of the Serbian royal house. Renowned brands followed one another during the various events and exhibitions: from the suits by the Florentine tailor Liverano&Liverano to Stefano Bemer men shoes; from Zenith watches to G.H. Mumm champagne. Antica Barbieria Colla also joined the event presenting its historic products.

The so called “five streets” are one of the oldest and richest in history district of Milan; walking around this area surrounded by Roman ruins, museums, churches and palaces is like travelling through time. Craft shops, curious ateliers, show-rooms and innovative concept stores follow one another and among them there is also Artisanal, a project by Lidia Pellecchia who created a fascinating boutique dedicated to men’s whims. Antica Babieria Colla placed its barber chair among shelves full of shoes, ties, cufflinks, travel bags and perfumes to offer true gentlemen a beard service either by clippers or razor.

Liverano & Liverano
At the same time as Pitti Immagine Uomo 88, the famous fair dedicated to men’s fashion, Antica Barbieria Colla brought its barber chair and products inside the Liverano & Liverano Atelier. The partnership with this luxury tailor was born from the common passion for craftsmanship and tradition capable of adapting themselves to the modern world dynamism. During the event, the documentary “The Barber” about Franco Bompieri was played, which was produced by Luchino Visconti and shot by the director Gianluca Migliarotti.

Ferragamo dedicated his Your Own Way campaign to the tie customisation service available in a selected number of boutiques all over the world and chose to shoot one of the TV commercial at Antica Barbieria Colla, which is par excellence a place where masculine style and taste are discussed, as well as a symbol of Italian craftsmanship.

The 2015 Giorgio Armani Eyewear campaign Frames of Life is about the stories of five protagonists different in culture, origins and emotions lived, but all capable to see the world through their heart and soul. Each of them frames a moment of his/ her life and talks about it truthfully and spontaneously; one of them, Kelly, has a deep bond to both Italy and Milan: he chose Antica Barbieria Colla as the symbol of the Italian shaving art.

Antica Barbieria Colla and the famous Florentine fashion brand share a deep connection with tradition, passion for made in Italy, high service standards and an open attitude towards the future.
A partnership between the two arose spontaneously at the end of the summer of 2014, and starting from October, every second Saturday of the month, a temporary barbershop was set up in the Brera Boutique and selected clients had the opportunity to experience the traditional Italian shaving.

Antica Barbieria Colla and Chivas Regal united for the event Movember, aimed at raising awareness about men’s health and at funding the organisations working on this issue.
For the entire month of November, modern gentlemen hosted by Members Club Milano 1909, the temporary cafe opened by Chivas Regal resembling English Clubs, were encouraged to grow their moustache wisely advised by Franco Bompieri; during the cafe closing night, entirely dedicated to Antica Barbieria Colla, Franco himself awarded the prize fo the best moustache.
